CPH: Short waiting times despite increase in passenger numbers

The unsettled Danish summer weather made passenger numbers soar in week 30, i.e. the week of 20-26 July, but Copenhagen Airport was still able to maintain its short waiting times for security screening.

The average waiting time for security screening at Copenhagen Airport in week 30 was 5 minutes and 10 seconds although passenger numbers were higher than forecast on several days of the week.

There is no doubt that the poor Danish summer weather made more people travel abroad at short notice to reach sunny destinations. This meant that we had more passengers than expected last week, so we were pleased to see that we were still able to keep our waiting times short,” said Chief Commercial Officer Peter Krogsgaard of Copenhagen Airports A/S.

The longest waiting time during week 30 was 18 minutes and 48 seconds, measured on 25 July at 2:00 p.m. Copenhagen Airport served a total of 178,728 departing passengers during the week, and 98.21% of them, or around 175,000 passengers, reached the security checkpoint in less than 15 minutes.
