Short waiting times on the peak travel days

In week 26 (the fourth week of June), the average waiting time for security screening at Copenhagen Airport was 4 minutes and 50 seconds.

Thanks to the increased staffing at the Copenhagen Airport security checkpoint, waiting times for security screening remained short although the week saw several hundred thousand passengers travelling on summer holiday. In week 26, the average waiting time throughout the week was 4 minutes and 50 seconds. During peak hours from 5:00-9:00 a.m. and 3:00-7:00 p.m., the average waiting time was 4 minutes and 48 seconds.

A total of 99.8% of the close to 193,000 passengers reached the checkpoint in less than 15 minutes. The longest waiting time, measured on 25 June at 11:15 a.m, was 15 minutes and 16 seconds.

This was yet another week of short waiting times, which is highly satisfactory as it was a week with many people travelling on holiday. Especially during the weekend, we had several periods with all 18 tracks open, which helped keep waiting times short for the vast majority of travellers," said Henrik Peter Jørgensen, VP, Communications at Copenhagen Airports A/S.

Many peak travel days still to come

The passenger forecast indicates that there are many peak travel days to come in the next few weeks, and more than 35,000 passengers are expected to pass through security on each day of the current week (week 27).

Our still full attention is still on keeping waiting times for security screening low. However, from previous years we know that domestic traffic is lower during the summer holiday period," said Henrik Peter Jørgensen.
