Improving the infrastructure

The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for Transport is a programme under The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). It is a funding instrument to realise European transport infrastructure policy and deliver on the European Green Deal.

Copenhagen Airports A/S participates in a number of the programme's development projects, aimed at improving Europe's aviation infrastructure. Find the projects below.

Latest project news

In January 2024, Copenhagen Airport has made the final implementation of procedures based on Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and area navigation (RNAV).

The implementation is part of the project Synchronised Performance Based Navigation (PBN) Implementation (2016_012_AF1), its main objective being to improve the precision of the arrival, approach and departure trajectories.

These procedures will make operations at Copenhagen Airport more efficient and profitable, thus enhancing the use of the airport and saving operational costs, both for aircraft and airport operators, eg. by removal of the Kastrup VOR (Very high frequency Omnidirectional Range) ground-based navigation infrastructure or when precision ground-based aids such as the Instrument Landing System (ILS) are unserviceable.
