Emissions from the value chain

Looking at the value chain of Copenhagen Airports, the emissions from the company's own operations account for only about 5 percent of the total greenhouse gas emissions, as described on the page Footprint and Goals.

Thus, 95 percent of the emissions come from other parts of the value chain. Of this, aircraft fuel consumption constitutes by far the largest portion, while other emission contributions come from our supply chain, the traffic to and from the airport, as well as the airport activities of our partners, including building operations.

At Copenhagen Airports, our goal is to reduce the total emissions of the value chain by 90 percent by 2050 compared to 2024, and to compensate for the remaining emissions through investments in climate credits. To achieve the desired reduction, extensive cooperation across the value chain is an absolute necessity.
