Tasting Notes: CHARACTER: Exotic, rich and fruity. AROMA: Peat smoke comes first but not dominant, there is red fruit, aniseed and barley sugar/boiled sweets. Smoke weaves between the other notes as they come, stewed apple, raspberry, blackcurrant, dried apricots and chocolate. TASTE: Warming and sweet, deep fruit and satin-like smoke. FINISH: Typical Octomore. Smoke comes through, a dry peat smoke, with malted barley and cherry, then goes out on its own. COLOUR: Ruby red.

Octomore - The most heavily peated whisky in the world was first released in 2008. All of the unctuous spirit in 08.2 spent six years in second-fill ex-Sauternes, French Mourvedres and Austrian sweet wine casks. Vatted then ACEd in firstfill Italian ex-Amarone casks for two years. Matured entirely on Islay. Eight years old.
