Our route development team is here to support you to develop new routes, and to promote them once they have launched. Not only do we announce routes through our award-winning social media channels and communicate them on the main Copenhagen website, we also have an additional way to reach Danes and Swedes who love to travel: our airline promotion package.

What is the airline promotion package?

The airline promotion package is a bundle of digital promotions for airlines and destinations marketers flying from Copenhagen that includes a spot in our CPH Newsletter, a competition run on our Moodie award-winning Facebook page and promotion on our Instagram story, where we also create a 24-hour Instagram Story with a link to the Facebook competition. An important thing to note: this effective promotional tool is free for all our airlines – you just have to supply a competition prize and discount.

How many people does it reach?

The CPH Newsletter is sent to over 300,000 Danish and Swedish travellers. We also have 210,000+ followers on social media – including 174,000+ on Facebook and 26,000+ on Instagram. Our Facebook page won the coveted Moodie Award 2016 for Best Facebook Page.

What type of results does it generate?

Recent campaigns have been very successful. A Thai Airways competition offering two business class flights to Phuket in winter 2018 had an organic reach of over a million people on Facebook. A spring 2019 competition run for LEVEL offered flights to Vienna plus a hotel stay and reached 570,000 people – again, this was all organic. Airlines also tell us that they also see a boost to their own website visitor figures during the competition period. Naturally, results fluctuate depending on the time of year and the destination, and we’re happy to share our insider knowledge and learnings to optimise your campaign.

How does it work?

There are three options:

1)       Book a dedicated newsletter for your airline – sent out to our full email list of over 300,000 readers – and a Facebook competition, with promotion on Instagram. To get a fully dedicated newsletter, you also need to include a special offer for newsletter readers, which will be highlighted in one of the newsletter columns.

2)       Book a Facebook competition and one column of editorial in the newsletter.

3)       Book one column in the newsletter, highlighting a special offer for newsletter readers.

With the last two options, the other editorial in the newsletter will include practical information or shopping centre commercials – you will never be put in a newsletter alongside another airline or competing offer.

What do airlines need to offer?

Airlines need to offer two airplane tickets, plus a special discount offer for newsletter readers if you want to book a fully dedicated newsletter. If your route is long haul, the flights need to be business class; if it is short haul, the flights do not have to be business class, but you are required to include a hotel stay at the destination.

The special discount is a member-only benefit, such as a general discount or a fixed low price on a specific route, and is the same for long and short haul.

What else should we include?

To set up the competition and offer, airlines also have to supply additional information about travel periods, terms and conditions, and disclaimers, along with a link to your landing page, a voucher code, and images.
