Police

The police handle a number of tasks at the airport, ranging from passport control to defining the security level at the airport: It was the police who decided that security and emergency management resources at the airport had to be increased following 11 September 2001.

Danish Civil Aviation Administration

The Danish Civil Aviation Administration (DCAA) is the authority responsible for civil aviation in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The DCAA sets the standards and makes the rules that apply to civil aviation as well as supervises that the standards and rules are observed. Moreover, the DCAA operates the airport on the Danish island of Bornholm and Vagar Airport on the Faroe Islands. The DCAA is an agency under the Danish Ministry of Transport. Naviair

Naviair – formerly known as the Air Traffic Management – was originally part of the Danish Civil Aviation Administration, but it was established as an independent government corporation under the Ministry of Transport and Energy on 1 January 2001. Naviair has approximately 700 employees and annual revenues of around DKK 750 million.

Naviair provides air traffic control services, i.e. it directs aircraft safely through Danish air space with the least possible delay. Naviair’s air traffic control centre handled some 617,262 air operations through Danish air space in 2006, of which about 40% were pure en-route operations where the aircraft pass through Danish air space without taking off or landing.

In addition, Naviair provides approach services for and tower control of incoming and departing flights to the two airports in Copenhagen as well as the airports at Billund, Roskilde, Esbjerg, Aarhus, Aalborg and on the island of Bornholm.

I 2006, Naviair controlled 544,128 take-offs and landings at Danish airports.

Customs and Tax

ToldSkat Copenhagen (Customs and Tax Administration, Copenhagen) handles tasks related to customs clearance and export of goods as well as courier consignments and postal packets at Copenhagen Airport. ToldSkat Copenhagen is also the regulatory authority in matters of the transport of goods and persons as related to import and export regulations and handles all related administrative and service jobs as well.
