Flybe expands with CPH-Stockholm
Europe’s largest regional airline announces new route from Copenhagen to Stockholm Bromma airport with up to 18 flights a week. Flybe’s network now features 26 routes across the Nordic and Baltic region
Since entering the Nordic and Baltic market through the joint acquisition of the former Finnish Commuter Airlines (Finncomm) in August this Year, British based Flybe has made clear its plans to expand its network with the intention of becoming the largest regional airline for the Nordic and Baltic region.
Mike Rutter, Managing Director Flybe Europe says: “This new route will open the fastest downtown-to-downtown connection between Copenhagen and Stockholm. Our high frequency, daily route between Stockholm and Copenhagen so soon after we started flying our first ever route to Tallinn, indicates our determination to continue introducing new services to and from Stockholm Bromma.”
Feeding to Copenhagen
In welcoming the announcement, Copenhagen Airport’s Director of Airline Sales & Route Development, Ole Wieth Christensen, comments:
“It is an important part of our strategy to strengthen our position as a European hub. Here, we are dependent on regional carriers to feed passengers to Copenhagen, where they can transfer to other airlines. So Flybe’s new route from Stockholm Bromma to Copenhagen is very good news indeed,” he says.
Agnetha Marcks von Würtemberg, Airport Director at Bromma Stockholm Airport, adds: ”It is with great pleasure that we welcome this new route from Bromma to Copenhagen. It will give travellers from Stockholm further access to Denmark and southern Sweden. Travellers from Denmark will now have better access to Stockholm,” she says.
