The summer holidays started out with a show
Thursday morning, passengers at Copenhagen Airport were met with a big surprise event when “pilots”, “stewardesses” and “airport staff” suddenly broke into song and dance.
Dancing pilots and singing stewardesses. Thursday morning (25 June 2009) the busy check-in areas of Copenhagen Airport transformed into a setting for a tremendous show when around 100 dressed-up performers from Pivot Performance mixed with passengers and suddenly broke into song and dance on the floor and the surrounding balconies.
With this unusual event in the airport terminals, Copenhagen Airport together with SAS, Cimber Sterling, Star Tour and Thomas Cook celebrated the first peak travel day of the year. The many passengers ready for holiday take-off in the early morning were met with a surprise and festive event when those who appeared as normal airline and airport uniformed staff turned out to have completely different talents.
Summer is the peak season at Copenhagen Airport with more than 30,000 departing passengers on the peak travel days. Overall, five million passengers are expected to flow through the airport during the months of June, July and August.
