Two new catering establishments at Copenhagen Airport

At the end of May, Select Service Partner (SSP) and CPH open the doors to two new restaurants. Their common denominator is fast and simple food inspired by the Italian and Asian cuisines.

”Many of our passengers are busy people on the go who just want a hot, fast and healthy meal. Our two new concepts, YamYamToGo and Prego, extend and refresh the selection of restaurants in the airport providing our passengers with the choice of enjoying a meal which is either fast and simple or very sophisticated”, says Janne Moltke-Leth, Commercial Director of Copenhagen Airports A/S.

Wide range of Asian dishes
YamYamToGo is a take-away restaurant offering freshly made dishes from the East. The food is not deep-fried, thus making it tastier and healthier. At YamYamToGo, guests can choose from a wide range of Asian dishes accompanied by either rice or noodles.

”We take great pleasure in launching this new exciting concept at CPH that significantly stands out from the existing range of food selections. YamYamToGo primarily target busy passengers on the go who appreciate a hot meal, people seeking healthy alternatives to traditional fast-food or people who know and appreciate the authenticity of Asian food”, adds Michael Grann, CEO of Select Service Partner Denmark.

The first YamYamToGo restaurant in Denmark was set up at the Copenhagen central station in December 2008.

Mix your own meal….
The other restaurant, Prego, inspired by the Italian cuisine, serves traditional Italian dishes such as pasta, bruschettas and pizzas made in a real stone oven. Prego is based on its “mix your own meal” concept, thus encouraging guests to make combinations pleasing their own taste buds. This concept especially applies to e.g. pastas and sauces, of which there are a multitude of combinations prepared by the cooks in 3 to 4 minutes. According to best traditional Italian style, Prego’s menu boasts a number of antipasti dishes, side orders and desserts.

”Visiting Prego should be an experience. The interior decoration is kept in simple, natural materials, olive trees and tiles to encourage guests to associate it with Italy. There is an open kitchen enabling the guests to see how the cooks work and what fresh ingredients they use in their dishes. The service is also very quick and efficient. The restaurant will serve a selection of Italian pastas, and if we are to be true to another of the traditional Italian dishes, then pizzas and antipasti are obvious Italian delicacies that will be included in the menu,” says Michael Grann.

YamYamToGo and Prego open the doors to the public at the end of May. They are located in the transit area of Terminal 3 and will replace Ginos.
