Passenger numbers stabilise

The number of passengers at Copenhagen Airport dropped by 12.7% year-on-year in May. This reflects early signs of stabilisation of the passenger numbers following a 16.2% drop in the first quarter of the year.

“The number of passengers at Copenhagen Airport continued to fall as compared with last year. However, things looked better in May than in the first quarter of 2009 when an average fall in passenger numbers of 16.2% was recorded. We see that as a sign that passenger numbers are stabilising - albeit at a lower level than last year,” said Carsten Nørland, Director of Aviation, Copenhagen Airports.

Growth in traffic to Aalborg
The total number of passengers travelling via Copenhagen Airport in May was 1,695,219 which was 246,848 fewer passengers than in May of last year. International traffic showed a combined fall of 13.1%, whilst domestic traffic dropped by 9.4%. However, the largest domestic route, Copenhagen-Aalborg, showed 1.4% growth.
