Norwegian launches service to Dubai

Copenhagen Airport will see the launch of the first low-cost service to a destination outside Europe when Norwegian launches direct flights to Dubai this autumn.

Norwegian, the biggest low-cost airline in Scandinavia, is going to open yet another route out of Copenhagen Airport. This time to Dubai. The airline will begin serving the destination on 31 October 2009 with one weekly flight using one of its brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

“Our new fleet of Boeing 737–

800s allows us to offer longer flights. In this respect, Dubai is an interesting destination for both business and leisure passengers. And the new aircraft have seats in a new design offering better comfort and more leg room,” said Daniel Skjeldam, Commercial Director, Norwegian.

Norwegian’s flight will leave Copenhagen on Saturdays at 3.15 pm and arrive in Dubai at 00.45 am. The return flight will leave Dubai on Sundays at 2.45 am and arrive in Copenhagen at 6.15 am.

“Norwegian has launched more than 20 new services out of Copenhagen Airport since last autumn and now offers the first low-cost service out of Copenhagen to a non-European destination.
The airline’s expansion in Copenhagen gives passengers more options and cheap tickets,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Aviation, Copenhagen Airports.
