More new routes out of Copenhagen
Both Cimber Sterling and Norwegian have announced more new routes out of Copenhagen Airport. The new services will be launched in the winter programme and will include flights to southern Europe as well as to ski destinations in the Alps.
Norwegian and Cimber Sterling are currently in a close race to become the second-largest airline at Copenhagen Airport. The lead is changing all the time, and after the two airlines announced new routes today, we will need a photo finish to determine which is currently flying the larger number of passengers out of Copenhagen.
Danish-owned Cimber Sterling will launch three new destinations in their winter programme, all comfortably close to the ski resorts in the Alps. The destinations are Geneva, Salzburg and Verona, which will increase the number of destinations out of Copenhagen to the Alp region to eight.
Norwegian is also expanding. The airline is launching a new route to Gran Canaria for the winter, bringing the total number of routes operated by the successful Norwegian low-cost carrier out of Copenhagen Airport to 19.
