New restaurant at Copenhagen Airport features Nordic cuisine

The “København” (Copenhagen) is a new restaurant at Copenhagen Airport. Full of design and quality, this restaurant serves Nordic food and beverages. The restaurant uses carefully selected high-quality Danish organic products. It also pays great attention to details – on the plate, in its interior design and in the atmosphere, catering to all senses.

Travellers at Copenhagen Airport now have a new option if they are looking for a delicious meal before their flight. Many travellers have already visited the restaurant and enjoyed its Nordic cuisine. The furniture, tableware and produce have all been carefully selected to make the food, interior design and atmosphere form a perfect whole.

Supporting Nordic values and tradition
“Several passengers at Copenhagen Airport have demanded a wider choice of restaurants. Nordic food is very popular right now and we are very pleased to be able to support Nordic values and tradition by establishing a restaurant based on Nordic food made from pure and wholesome produce. We hope this will make the Nordic Region more visible on the gastronomic world map,” said Henrik Busch, director of commercial activities at Copenhagen Airports A/S.

Promoting quality, animal welfare and environmental awareness
The chef behind the menu of the “København” is Nicolai Poulsen. In his composition of the menu he has focused on using common Nordic produce such as beef, sweetbread, strawberries from Denmark, and berries, vinegars and cheeses from Sweden. The menu changes in time with the seasons, each with unique flavours. The producers have been carefully selected and include Gambogård, Friland and Grand Fromage, all of which focus on quality, animal welfare and environmental awareness. The wine list includes wine and champagne produced in Denmark and Sweden and organic aquavit from Shumachers.

“Inspired by Nordic cuisine, we serve classical food such as Danish open-face sandwiches, hamburger steak with fried onions and fried plaice, all with a gastronomic twist. For instance, we serve our open-face sandwich of herring with a purée of spinach and a colourful potato salad. This gives our guests an opportunity to really taste the good produce. Moreover, we have made an effort to compose our menu so that all dishes can be served quickly to give passengers plenty of time to enjoy their meal before they catch their flight,”
said Nicolai Poulsen. In order to ensure that restaurant guests have time to enjoy their food, meals are served within ten minutes.

The “København” is located in the transit area after the security checkpoint and is open from 5.00 am to 11.00 pm (food is served until 9.30 pm).
