Sterling Airlines files for bankruptcy
Sterling Airlines A/S has filed for bankruptcy. All the company's departures and arrivals are therefore cancelled. Please find alternative travel routes via the airport's dynamic route map. For purchase of tickets please contact the airline directly.
A number of the airline’s customers who had bought and paid for tickets via Sterling’s website have expressed a wish to have the passenger charge refunded. Unfortunately, Copenhagen Airports A/S (CPH) cannot refund money we have not yet received.
The charges airlines pay to CPH for using the airport and its facilities are based both on aircraft size and passenger numbers. Accordingly, the final take-off and passenger charge is not known until the flight has departed, and CPH therefore does not invoice the airline until then.
The passenger charge collected by Sterling is therefore a matter to be settled between Sterling’s estate in bankruptcy and the passengers who have bought and paid for tickets and thus paid the charge.
