New opportunities for ski tourists
Low-cost carrier transavia.com, which is owned by KLM, will be back at Copenhagen Airport next winter. This year, the airline will offer five weekly frequencies to Innsbruck, Austria, a popular destination for many Danish ski tourists.
On 18 December, Dutch-based low-cost carrier transavia.com opens its new route from Copenhagen to Innsbruck, Austria. The five weekly flights will give ski tourists from the Øresund Region a new and quick opportunity to travel to attractive skiing areas.
“We are very proud of being back at Copenhagen Airport with our new route to Innsbruck. Our mission with the route is to give passengers out of Copenhagen more time for skiing and instead of time spent on the motorways: with our five flights a week, passengers can now reach the Alps quickly, easily and of course at low fares. If you just have a long weekend for skiing, it is naturally better to spend just two hours on a flight than ten hours in a car,” said Arian van der Werff, Manager Business Development, transavia.com.
transavia.com’s new route underlines the fact that the low-cost segment is driving growth in the aviation industry at the moment. The route to Innsbruck will be the seventh new low-cost route out of Copenhagen this year.
