New convenience shop concept at Copenhagen Airport

The passengers at Copenhagen Airport desire a wide variety of books and as of this fall they will experience a new concept in the airport’s convenience shops offering among others a larger range of books.

In October 2008 SSP and WHSmith will open the doors to five convenience shops at Copenhagen Airport. Two shops will be placed before the central security check and the other three in the area after the security check at respectively Pier A, Pier B and Pier D.

The shop in Pier B is the main store covering close to 400 square metres. The five shops cover around 700 square metres in total.   

Larger range of books and over 215 years of experience

“We are very happy to be able to offer our passengers a new convenience shop concept. The demand for books is increasing so we are happy that the new operator amongst others has chosen to expand the range of books available to the passengers. With WHSmith we welcome an international operator which is not present at the Danish market today. The partnership between SSP and WHSmith means that the valuable know-how of the current operator, SSP, can be used in the continued operation of the shops whilst the WHSmith brand will contribute with a further global traveller understanding and over 215 years of retail experience,” says Vice President, Commercial Business at Copenhagen Airports A/S Henrik Busch.   

The convenience shops at Copenhagen Airport are the shops at the airport that are visited by the largest number of passengers.
