New large duty- and tax-free store coming up
A new concessionaire has taken over the duty- and tax-free stores at Copenhagen Airport. The large duty- and tax-free store in Terminal 2 is being refurbished and will therefore be closed for the next three months. Instead, a new temporary duty- and tax-free store opened in Terminal 3 on 1 March.
German-based Gebr. Heinemann KG took over the duty- and tax-free concession of Copenhagen Airport’s five duty- and tax-free stores on 1 March 2007.
In connection with the takeover, the large, central duty- and tax-free store in Terminal 2 will be closed for refurbishment for three months.
Temporary store at Terminal 3
During the refurbishment period, passengers will find the usual wide range of perfume, cosmetics, spirits, tobacco and sweets in a 700 square metre temporary duty- and tax-free store which opened on 1 March 2007 in Terminal 3.
"Unfortunately, we have to close the central duty- and tax-free store during the refurbishment period, but a temporary store in Terminal 3 is a good alternative, and the airport’s four other duty- and tax-free shops will also be open during the period," said Vice President Henrik Busch of Copenhagen Airports A/S.
New store will be one of the largest in the world
"We look forward to welcoming passengers to our new, attractive duty- and tax-free universe next summer, when the new central store opens. The new store will have a floor space of more than 2,500 square metres and will be one of the largest in the world," said Busch.
Copenhagen Airports A/S has a six-year contract with Gebr. Heinemann KG, one of the leading duty- and tax-free operators in the world with more than 180 stores in 30 international airports.
