CowParade at Copenhagen Airport

Over the next three months, Copenhagen Airports is represented in the Copenhagen CowParade with a cow decorated by acclaimed Danish artist Bjørn Nørgaard, who was asked to designed a cow the way he wanted to.

"We are pleased that Copenhagen Airport chose to participate in and support the CowParade Copenhagen, the world’s largest public art event. With 60,000 international visitors at Copenhagen Airport, this is one of Scandinavia’s key exhibition windows, and it is therefore attractive to the CowParade and all the people who are enjoying the exhibition," said Mehdi Triki & Andi Debel, who have arranged the CowParade Copenhagen.

Spoiled with extra features

Passengers at Copenhagen are already used to be spoiled with a number of extra features such as architecture, design and art by half a hundred of the best Danish and Scandinavian architects, artists and designers.

Yet another feature is added when the airport exhibits a cow from the CowParade Copenhagen that has been specially designed by acclaimed Danish artist Bjørn Nørgaard. The cow has just arrived and will be on display at the airport until September.

Profit given to charity

The CowParade is a global art event, and the profit from auctioning off the cows exhibited will be given to charity. Since 1998, the CowParade event has taken place in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and many other large cities worldwide.

This year, Copenhagen is the venue, and at the end of the CowParade Copenhagen, a large, open charity auction will be conducted by Lauritz.com, and the entire profit will be passed on to Save the Children. Fifty percent will go to Save the Children’s general work among  children in need around the world, and 50% will be earmarked for projects for children in need in Greenland and Denmark. You can put in your bid for the cows already now on http://www.lauritz.com/
