Second Starbucks to open at Copenhagen Airport
A second Starbucks coffee bar opened at Copenhagen Airport on 12 December. Now passengers can also order a hot cup of coffee from Starbucks, the world-famous and delicious coffee brand, before they board their flight.
At 12 noon on the twelfth day of the twelfth month of this year, the first cup of Starbucks coffee was served at the counter of the new coffee bar in the transit area of Copenhagen Airport. Passengers quickly detected the smell of good coffee and lined up to taste some of the many Starbucks variations on a cup of java.
Many positive reactions
The franchisee, HMS Host, operates the two Starbucks coffee bars at Copenhagen Airport, and Martin Drescher was very pleased to see the lights of the new Starbucks be turned on:

“Our first Starbucks coffee bar, which opened early this autumn in Terminal 3 next to the SAS ticket office, has been very popular. We have received a huge number of favourable reactions from our guests. We often see coffee lovers from the entire area flock to Starbucks to taste this delicious American coffee brand – even if they have no other reason to go to the airport. Our sales are higher and more stable than we anticipated, so we are confident that the new Starbucks in the transit area will be a great success as well,” said Drescher. |
Close to 1000 guests visit the Starbucks in the arrivals area of Copenhagen Airport every day; HMS Host expects just as many guests at the new coffee bar in the transit area.
Demand high among passengers
Copenhagen Airports is also very pleased that the popular Starbucks coffee attracts so many coffee lovers among passengers and visitors. Fan clubs have even made the trip all the way from Jutland to Copenhagen Airport just to taste some of the many different types of coffee offered.
“Demand for Starbucks coffee has been really high. Starbucks is one of the world’s strongest brands, and it is a brand that many international passengers recognise and identify with. This makes us very pleased to be able offer even more passengers the opportunity to make the acquaintance of Starbucks’ wide range of specialty coffees,” said Henrik Busch, director of commercial activities for Copenhagen Airports.
