Safety system updates close the bridge

As of Sunday, February 4th , 10:00 p.m., until Monday, February 5th , 5:00 a.m., the Øresund Bridge will be almost fully closed to road traffic. However, the bridge will be opened for five minutes on the hour until 3:05 a.m. to enable waiting traffic to pass.

The reason for the road traffic block is the required update to the monitoring system and the safety system on the bridge. Rail traffic will not be affected by the closure and will continue to operate as normal.
A part of the test will also be implemented short-term (approx. 30 minutes) during the night from February 5 to 7 and between February 14 and 17.

- The Øresund Bridge regret the difficulties they might cause their customers. They hope for understanding that it is important to carry out this critical work so that they can continue to guarantee the high degree of safety on the Øresund Bridge, says Bengt Hergart, production manager of the Øresundsbro Consortium.
