Getting through security easier

Copenhagen Airport constantly studies and develops initiatives to make travelling more comfortable for passengers. However, as a passenger you can also help get through security easier. A new animation video shows passengers how.

Passengers must show their boarding card and take their keys, mobile phone and coins out of their pockets before going through security. If you are carrying a bag in one hand, an overcoat and perhaps a child on the other arm, there are a lot of things to remember already before you get on the plane.

That is the situation for most people setting out on a trip, also at Copenhagen Airport where we continuously

investigate how we can make travelling easier and more flexible for passengers. One of the things Copenhagen Airport focuses on is helping passengers use the time before and after their flight as well as possible.

A video showing the way

“A couple of years ago, we developed a count-down system which tells arriving passengers when their bags will be on the belt, and last summer we introduced signs showing how many minutes of waiting time there is at security so that passengers can choose the shortest line. Both of these features can help reduce the stress that may arise during a trip. As a passenger, you can do a lot to get through security more quickly,” says Passenger Manager Susanne Frank of Copenhagen Airports.

“Your flight is the primary reason for your being at the airport, and you might not always be aware of what you can do yourself to make your trip easier and more flexible. We wish to tell passengers what they can do. Therefore, we have produced an animation video showing passengers how to do just that. Passengers have been telling us about video projects from the airports at Paris, London, Stuttgart and Stockholm already while we were developing our video. We take that as an indication that we have done the right thing, and that the video will help make travelling easier for future passengers.”

The video was developed especially for Copenhagen Airport. It shows how you as a passenger can help shorten time at the security checkpoint by being ready to show your boarding card and by finding your keys, mobile phone and coins, so that you can quickly place these items in one of the trays to go on the security belt.

The video is shown at the security checkpoints in Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, but you can also see it by clicking on this page.
