More passengers on routes to Norway

Every 10th passenger at Copenhagen Airport travels to or from Norway. This adds up to more than two million passengers per year, and judging by the figures for the first four months of 2006, the number will be even higher this year.

Almost 650,000 passengers travelled from Copenhagen Airport to various destinations in Norway during the period from January to April, traditionally the low season. That was just over 40,000 passengers more than during the same period last year.

The route to Oslo accounted for more than half the growth, and the four airlines operating on the Oslo-Copenhagen route - SAS, Norwegian, Sterling and TAP Air Portugal – together carried 410,000 passengers on the route during the first four months of the year.

There were also more passengers than last year on the routes to Bergen and Stavanger, and to smaller destinations such as Torp, Kristiansand and Trondheim.

Measured by country, Norway is the largest destination out of Copenhagen Airport, which is the largest airport in Scandinavia and is used by many Norwegian passengers as a hub for their international trips.
