Copenhagen Airport wins award for health campaign

Drink a glass of champagne before your departure. This surprising piece of advice met passengers as Copenhagen Airport focused on the wellbeing of travellers with its Healthy Flying campaign, which was featured at the airport terminals in early 2006.

Now it’s time for the Airport’s marketing department to pop the champagne again, as the successful campaign just won an award in the industry magazine Duty-Free News International’s annual presentation of its choice of best marketing campaigns by duty free shops around the world. Healthy Flying won the Best Gifts Marketing Campaign category.

The campaign offered good advice, tips and ideas for passengers to reduce the stress the body is exposed to during a long flight. Around the airport, passengers also had the opportunity to buy light, healthy meals, moisturisers, vitamins, ear plugs, eye masks, support stockings – and champagne, of course.

The Healthy Flying campaign was arranged in collaboration with the British Aviation Health Institute, the Tax-Free shops at Copenhagen Airport and Select Service Partner, which operates a number of cafés, bars and restaurants at the airport.
