Good advice for the busy summer period at Copenhagen Airport

A new section at www.cph.dk focuses on the summer period at Copenhagen Airport and allows passengers to enter their travel time and see how busy the airport will be when they are going to travel.

The summer period is the peak season at the airport, and with the prospect of up to 80,000 passengers per day, Copenhagen Airport has taken a number of initiatives to make passengers’ passage through the airport as flexible as possible during the busy season.

Busyness Barometer, travel tips and special offers for children

In order help passengers on their way, the airport has set up a special summer section on its website www.cph.dk, with advice and guidance regarding the first part of their travel.

The airport is busy most of the summer, but on certain days and times, passenger numbers will be considerably

higher than during other periods. In the Busyness Barometer, you can enter the date and time of departure for your trip and get information on how busy we expect the airport to be at that time. There are also a number of good tips on to how to make your time at the airport go as smoothly as possible.

In the summer section, you will also find tips on how to get off on an inexpensive holiday. The Copenhagen Airport summer site features a number of links and tips ranging from budget flights to inexpensive food and beverage at the airport.

Passengers travelling with children will find an overview of facilities and other options for children at the airport: How do we get to the play area? Where can I buy children's clothing and toys?

Extra service staff

During the summer season, the airport is increasing the number of service staff available to help you find your way through the airport and give you information about the many different options at the airport. Service staff members are easy to spot: they are the ones wearing the lime-green polo shirts printed with the Copenhagen Airports logo "CPH". You will find the service staff in the check-in area and other central locations at the airport.

Three security entrances

To minimize waiting times at the security checkpoints, passengers in the international terminals now have three different entrances with a total of 10 "lanes" to choose from.

Opening a third entrance keeps the pressure at the individual checkpoints down, and passengers can pass through more quickly. Still, on days with many departures, there may be queues. However, with the introduction of yet another checkpoint, passengers can now choose the least busy entrance.

Electronic information screens near the stairs to the security checkpoints provide information on the current waiting times at the different checkpoints. Passengers can then select the checkpoint with the shortest waiting time and go there.
