Black Mega Fluted takes over the airport

Mannequins painted with the Royal Copenhagen Fluted Mega pattern hang from the ceiling near the Royal Copenhagen shop in Terminal 2 at the airport. They will be there up to and including 31 October, and the occasion behind this attention-getting decoration is the launch of Royal Copenhagen's new Black Mega Fluted service.

For the first time in its 231-year-long history, porcelain manufacturer Royal Copenhagen will be introducing a service in black. The new table service is closely related to the blue and white Blue Fluted Mega pattern that the company launched six years ago as a successful retake on its classic Blue Fluted service from 1775.

According to Royal Copenhagen, Black Mega Fluted is a "design statement [that] refers back to the little black cocktail dress, to the

masculine kitchen and to the clean-cut lines in architecture" and more of a designer object than a conventional table service.
