New restaurants on the way at Copenhagen Airport

Passengers at Copenhagen Airport can look forward to new restaurants and cafés next year. The airport has signed a new seven-year contract with HMSHost – one of the leading restaurant operators at international airports worldwide.

HMSHost is going to open three new restaurants in near the check-in areas at Copenhagen Airport in the spring of 2007.

  • CIAO – a modern self-service restaurant with more than 150 different freshly made Mediterranean specialties on the menu.
  • A new international café concept – one of the world’s leading gourmet coffee brands will be introduced in Scandinavia for the first time.
  • BURGER KING – the well-known fast-food chain is already located in Terminal 3, but will open in a completely new version.

“Food is affected by trends and we focus on offering passengers up-to-date products and options in all price categories. Over the past couple of years, we have established a large number of new facilities in the restaurant field as part of a comprehensive modernisation and expansion of the options available. The contract with HMSHost brings us a step further in that direction, said Vice President Henrik Busch of Copenhagen Airports A/S.

HMSHost is a subsidiary in the Autogrill Group, which has activities in 49 airports and 14 countries in Europe alone. Autogrill operates more than 4,500 restaurants, cafés and shops worldwide, especially at airports, railway stations and motorways, and serve more than 800 million customers per year.
