New route to Balaton, Hungary

Direct flights from Copenhagen to the Hungarian holiday destination Balaton were launched on 20 May 2006. Malev, the Hungarian airline, operates the new summer route from Copenhagen Airport.

Until the end of September, Malev offers one weekly frequency with Boeing 737s which departs from Copenhagen on Saturdays at 8.20 pm and arrives in Balaton at 10.15 pm. The flying time is 1 hour and 55 minutes. Return flights leave Balaton at 11 pm on Saturdays and arrive in Copenhagen at 00.55 am.

The Balaton Lake in western Hungary is the largest fresh-water lake in Central Europe and slightly larger than the Danish island of Bornholm. There are many beaches along the lake, and the area has been a popular holiday destination for many years.

Malev already flies from Copenhagen to Budapest, the Hungarian capital, all year round.
