Copenhagen Airport launches airport bar for women
Asta is the name of a new bar for women at Copenhagen Airport. At the Asta, female passengers will have an oasis in the middle of the airport, where they can relax and treat themselves to delicious, light meals before their flight.
A quiet corner, an inspiring view, a light salad… and perhaps a small dessert.
A growing number of passengers at Copenhagen Airport are women, and they will now have new opportunities to treat themselves to delicious, fast and healthy meals in special surroundings. Today, Copenhagen Airport launched a new bar – the Asta – targeting women.
“Today’s women travel a lot. Three to four years ago, just over a third of the airport’s passengers were women; today they account for close to half our passengers. They demand different products and environments than men, and we would like to meet those demands. Therefore, we are now launching a unique concept: an airport bar for women,” said Vice President Henrik Busch of Copenhagen Airports A/S.
Simple design and an inviting atmosphere
The new bar has been named after world famous Danish film diva Asta Nielsen, who is an icon for modern, self-assured and quality-conscious women. The style at the Asta is simple, yet warm and inviting.
The bar is built of rose-coloured Estremoz marble with a base made of smoked oak. The seats include “Louis Ghost” chairs designed by Philippe Starck and designer poufs with material designed by Tord Boontje, one of Europe’s promising young designers.
From soup to chocolate
On the menu at the Asta are healthy and exciting soups, salads and sandwiches and a large range of mineral waters, wines, champagnes and other beverages. For passengers who want a small dessert, the Asta offers fine chocolates from Peter Beier. The Asta’s foods and beverages are also available as to-go products.
At the Asta – where men are also welcome – passengers can relax and at the same time be inspired by the many details and the bustling life at the airport around them. Welcome to a stimulating time at the Asta.
