Increased traffic to Turkey

When Maersk Air opens its new direct route to Antalya on 24 June 2005, Danes will have ten weekly services and three different airlines to choose from for their trips to Turkey.

“The new route to Antalya is a natural step in response to the trend we are seeing in traffic to Turkey at the moment,” comments Trille Tang Dalsgaard, head of Airline Relations at Copenhagen Airport. “The traffic figures for December 2004 are not yet available, but if we compare 2003 with 2004 – the period January to November – we see a clear increase in the number of passengers to this popular destination. Charter traffic increased by 52% and scheduled traffic by 19%. Overall, traffic grew by 40%, which is a high rate for a single country.”

Today, SAS and Turkish Airlines operate flights to Turkey out of Copenhagen Airport.
