Record number at “speed dating” for the aviation industry
Sunday marks the beginning of the event of the year in international aviation. This year’s World Route Forum (Routes) will be held on 25-27 September, in Copenhagen for the first time and with a record-high number of attendees registered for the event. More than 1600 delegates from 280 airlines and 500 airports are expected to attend this year’s Routes at the Bella Center.
Routes is a kind of “speed dating” for the aviation industry, where airlines and airports from all over the world meet and plan new routes. A total of 20 thousand different meetings have already been arranged between the interested parties, who will hold 20-minute one-on-one meetings at which all the participants gather in the same room and negotiate at the same time. Copenhagen Airport is hosting the eleventh of these conferences, which is giving attendees from 120 countries the opportunity to make new contacts and lay the groundwork for new routes.
This year’s Routes conference will be the largest since the first one was held in 1995. Routes is the only global meeting place for decision-makers in the aviation industry.
