Three new SAS routes

Scandinavian Airlines Denmark plans to launch services out of Copenhagen Airport to three new destinations in the autumn of 2005. The new SAS services to London City, Luxembourg and Nuremburg target business travellers in particular.

From 30 October, SAS will operate two daily return flights between Copenhagen and London City Airport. Located in the new business district of Canary Wharf, this small airport near the City of London is one of the fastest growing airports in Europe in terms of the number of business travellers. SAS will use 72-seat Q400 turboprops on the new route. SAS already operates up to six daily return flights to Heathrow, London’s largest airport.

From 1 September, SAS will also offer flights to Luxembourg, which, like London, is a European financial centre. SAS will operate two daily frequencies using 50-seat CRJ 200 regional jet aircraft from Cimber Air.

In addition, SAS is expanding its route network to Germany with a daily return flight to Nuremburg, which is known as an important centre for industry and fairs. This service will also be operated using 50-seat CRJ 200 aircraft. Nuremberg will be the ninth SAS destination out of Copenhagen to Germany.
