A hot dog with everything

Pasta, seafood, a sandwich or a T-bone steak: There are many food options available to passengers travelling out of Copenhagen Airport. Now, they can also get an original Danish-style hot dog served by a real hot-dog man in a genuine hog-dog stand as we know them from downtown Copenhagen. The new hot-dog stand is in Terminal 3, and it is already popular with passengers.

“The hot-dog cart is a unique Danish and Scandinavian phenomenon, but maybe not something one would off-hand expect to find in a modern airport. A number of passengers have expressed that they would like to have the option to eat at a hot-dog cart, and therefore we have designed a hot-dog stand in collaboration with Steff Houlberg Fastfood. The new hot-dog stand fits into the airport’s unique interior design and architecture whilst also respecting the classical look of Danish hot-dog carts,” comments Kenneth Guldbjerg, shopping centre manager at Copenhagen Airports.

A hot-dog cart in a class of its own

The airport hot-dog stand is blue instead of the characteristic white colour of Danish hot-dog carts, the counter is in dark, tropical wood, and small halogen spots throw a pleasant light on the range of sausages and hot dogs on offer.

“With the new hot-dog stand, we offer something very Danish at Copenhagen Airport and give passengers from all over the world a chance to experience the genuine hot-dog-cart atmosphere,” comments Christian Petersen, sales manager at Steff Houlberg Fastfood.

“After the opening a few days ago, we have already had many positive reactions, both from Scandinavian passengers, who know the hot-dog-cart concept, and from others who have tried a hot dog with everything for the first time,” adds Guldbjerg.
