U.S. Visa Waiver Program
Beginning 26 October 2004, all travelers – including children and infants – must present individual machine readable passports (MRP) in order to travel to the United States without a visa on the Visa Waiver Program.
What are machine readable passports?
Machine readable passports have biographical data entered on the data page according to international specifications. These passports have two lines of printed OCR-B machine readable data containing the person's name, the passport number, and other data at the bottom of the passport page that contains the bearer's personal identifying information. Denmark started issuing machine readable passports in March 1997.
