Metro station 'Airport' under construction
Since the spring of 2004, the Copenhagen Airports Real Estate Department has been working on the construction of the airport metro station. The station will be located to the north of car park P5 and to the west of the Hilton hotel.

The Ørestad Development Corporation is handling the bridge construction on the island of Amager, while the airport company is building the station designed by the Vilhelm Lauritzen group of architects. Vilhelm Lauritzen also designed the airport railway station and Terminal 3, and Vilhelm Lauritzen is particularly famous for designing the old airport terminal from 1939.
The construction of the metro station is scheduled to take place in two phases: a 600 sq.m. underground plant room is currently under construction in the area between the car park and the railway. The entire project will be completed by the end of 2005, but the stations on phase 3 of the metro system have already been given names. On the section from Lergravsparken to the Airport you may take the metro to the Øresund, Amager Strand, Femøren, Kastrup and Lufthavnen stations, but that will not be until in 2007.
