The Danes want to spend their autumn break in the south

Denmark’s three largest package tour operators have sold out all the package tours available during the autumn break and have even had to add extra capacity. Apollo, Star Tour and My Travel report combined sales of 45% more tours than expected. From today until the middle of next week, the three package tour operators will be flying 11,000 Danes to their warm and sunny destinations in the south of Europe.

In order to meet the demand for autumn break trips to destinations in the south, the tour operators have had to source extra capacity from the north. Most of the extra capacity has been obtained from Norway, but additional capacity has also been brought in from Sweden and Greenland.

Apollo, Star Tour and My Travel have each recorded growth rates of 15-17% compared with last year’s autumn break. As was the case last year, Turkey, Greece and Spain are the most popular destinations.
