duo starts operations to Birmingham
Starting November 1 2003, duo, the new full-service airline flying from Birmingham, will start operations to Copenhagen. duo will have 3 daily departures Monday to Friday and daily departures on Saturday and Sunday.7 days a week. The estimated flying time is around 2 hours. First departure out of Copenhagen is scheduled for 10:15 whilst the last departure out of Birmingham is scheduled for 17:20.
duo was created from a Management Buy-Out of Maersk Air Ltd in June 2003 who had been operating under a British Airways franchise agreement from Birmingham for over 10 years. The Management Buy-Out means that all the staff own a part of the Company and therefore they play a crucial role in duo's future success. duo now employ over 300 people, including their own engineering department which maintains the fleet of 8 aircraft.
A jet type of CRJ700 with capacity of 68 seats will be used on the route.
To celebrate the start, duo has launched a celebratory fare that applies to seats booked between October 17 and October 31 for travel between November 1 and December 18.
