Parking: Economy or business class?

From now on, it will be easier to find parking that suits passenger needs and purses. In future, passengers will be able to follow the signs to inexpensive ‘economy parking’ or more expensive ‘business parking’. In addition, a special new holiday offer will be launched for passengers who will be away for a week or two.

Economy parking

Copenhagen Airport has ten car parks in different price ranges. From 1 July 2000, prices at the cheapest car parks will be cut to DKK 10 per hour. The maximum price per 24 hours will be DKK 80, which is equivalent to an hourly price of DKK 3.33. These car parks will be signposted ‘Economy parking’.

Holiday parking

In addition, there will be a special holiday offer of DKK 290 for one week and DKK 500 for two weeks. The price per hour in this case is DKK 10, and for one week’s parking the hourly price will be DKK 1.72.

The offer is signposted ‘Holiday parking’ and will be available in the P1 car park.

Business parking

For passengers who wish to park closer to the departures and arrivals terminals, the hourly prices will remain unchanged, but the 24-hour price will be raised from DKK 170 to DKK 190, which will be the maximum price. The hourly price will be DKK 7.91 for 24 hours’ parking. These prices apply to car parks P6 and P8. The prices at car parks P4, P5 and P7 are DKK 150 per 24-hours. These car parks will be signposted ‘Business parking’.

Guaranteed parking space with the P-direct card

For passengers who want to be sure that there is room for their car in the business section, the P-direct card is the solution. This card is primarily the obvious solution for frequent fliers who would like to avoid having to pay cash each time. The card is a charge card that allows cardholders to pay from home. Passengers using the card are guaranteed a parking space in the P6 and P8 car parks, which are closest to the terminals.

Last minute parking for P-direct customers

P-direct cardholders arriving at the airport at the last minute can also use valet parking. This service will be available from late August: the extra charge will be DKK 200, and the cars will be parked in car park P6 immediately below Terminal 3.

Parking at Copenhagen Airport:

A total of 1.8 million cars parked at Copenhagen Airport in 2001. Out of these cars, 800,000 – or about 44% – parked for three hours or less. The first 15 minutes’ parking are always free of charge.

Holiday parking is available in car park P1.

 

Economy parking is available in car parks P2, P9 and P10 and business parking in car parks P4, P5 and P7. P-direct cardholders are guaranteed a spot in the P6 and P8 car parks.

 

The number of Swedish cars parking at the airport has increased from 400-500 cars per day last year to 500-600 cars per day this year, an increase of about 30%. The operator of the car parks at Copenhagen Airport is Lufthavnsparkeringen København A/S.
