Students dancing around "The Four Winds" sculpture
Before scattering to the four winds, the happy graduating students from Tårnby High School will get together one last time to dance around Henrik Starcke’s sculpture "The Four Winds" at Copenhagen Airport.
Since 1999, when the old 1960s tradition was revived, the graduating students of Taarnby High School have celebrated their graduation by dancing around "The Four Winds" at Copenhagen Airport. They will be doing so again this year, and the festive event will take place on Saturday, 22 June between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm.
Space for dancing
"The Four Winds" sculpture was erected at Copenhagen Airport in 1964. Three years ago, Henrik Starcke’s sculpture was moved to a new location in the front of the multi-storey car park by Terminal 2. Initially, the plan was to plant bushes around the sculpture, but in order not to jeopardise the fine tradition, the airport operator decided to establish a [[narrow/1-2 metre]] paved band around "The Four Winds" to ensure the students have enough space to dance around the sculpture.
The press is very welcome to attend the event at "The Four Winds" this coming Saturday, 22 June from 11.30 am in front of the multi-storey car park by Terminal 2.
