3. The Vilhelm Lauritzen Terminal
In 1939, Copenhagen Airport opened a new airport terminal: it was designed by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen and in use until 1960. To create space for new terminal buildings, the railway station and a hotel, the old 4000-square-metre building was moved 3.8 kilometres to the western side of the airport area in 1999. |

5. The Vilhelm Lauritzen Terminal
During the work to refurbish the Vilhelm Lauritzen terminal, old sketches, drawings and photographs were studied carefully. The materials selected for the current interior design were as close as possible to the original materials used. The photo shows the original newel stair in the hall.
