Description: As the only Danish project, Copenhagen Airports received one out of six medalsawarded from among 281 preservation projects in 19 European countries. The objects of Europa Nostra are to draw attention to the protection of the European cultural heritage.

Description: The Association for the Beautification of the Capital motivated the awards as follows: "It is talented in thought, action and quality. It is a unique building whose refined values of beauty are irreplaceable in our architectural and culture history. It is a wonderful story of an exquisitely daring project, wholly in the spirit og flying - wich especially enjoyed the administration of the functionalists and was a major inspiration to them. They would have loved this mechanical engineering achievement. We at the Association for the Beautification og the Capital certainly do."

Description: On the panel are building-industry professionals. Chairman Lars Heilesen motivated the award as follows: "Today, after the rebuilding and expansion, Copenhagen Airport is one of Europe’s best airports. The opening of the bridge to Sweden means that the Airport will play an even greater role for the entire region. We were awarding the prize to Niels Boserup for his visions in that respect."
