Passport control and security screening |
Always allow plenty of time for passport control and security screening.
If you want to remain in the transit area:
- If you arrive from a non-EU country, you must go through security screening if you have an onward connection.
- If you arrive from an EU country and have an onward connection, you will not have to go through security, no matter where you are going.
- You have to go through passport control if you travel into/travelled from non-Schengen destinations.
Please note that there are no airline lounges or other private lounges after passport control, and shopping opportunities are limited.
If you want to leave Copenhagen Airport
- You do not have to go through passport control if you are travelling within the Schengen area, but you must have valid travel documents with you, and it is a good idea to bring along your passport, just in case.
- If you are travelling to a destination outside the Schengen area, you must go through passport control. Please note that there are no airline lounges or other private lounges after passport control, and shopping opportunities are limited.
- Irrespective of whether you are travelling within or outside the Schengen zone, you must go through security to re-enter the transit area.
