Decision on increase of security charge

In our H1 report (announcement no. nr. 10/2005 dated 18 August 2005) we stated that an increase of the passenger charge by DKK 5.80 to partially cover security costs to be introduced on 1 July 2005 had been submitted to the Ministry of Transport and Energy for decision.

The Ministry has now advised CPH that it turns down the application for an increase of the security charge motivating it by the fact that significant costs relate to the necessary preparation and start-up of activities as a consequence of a formal requirement from the authorities coming into force on 1 January 2006.

The Ministry has furthermore indicated that it is prepared to approve that these costs are included in an application for an increase of the security charge for 2006.

Against that background, we intend to capitalise costs incurred in 2005 that cannot be covered by the existing charges, and the decision will therefore have no effect on profit for the year ending 31 December 2005.
