Copenhagen Airport: Most inexpensive cargo airport in Scandinavia

Copenhagen Airports reduces its charges for freight operations from 1 July 2004. In the future, a 50% discount will be given on the take-off charge for all-cargo flights with aircraft exceeding 200 tonnes.

”We have long been among the lowest third of airports in Europe when it comes to charges for passenger operations. This new move will rank us among the low-priced airports on cargo operations.

By offering a discount to cargo operators, we hope to attract more of the “heavy” traffic. The new discount programme will initially run for 18 months.
By this, we will become the most inexpensive cargo airports in Scandinavia and fully competitive with the other large airports in Europe”, says Lars Korup, head of Cargo at Copenhagen Airports.

The air cargo hub of northern Europe

Each year, 336,000 tonnes of cargo is moved through Copenhagen Airport, on 8000 take-offs and landings. The location of Copenhagen Airport means that it today is the north European hub for air cargo to Scandinavia, the Baltic States and the south Baltic-rim countries.
