New route to Basel

From beginning of the summer program March 27th Swiss International Air Lines opens a route with six weekly flights from Copenhagen to Basel in Switzerland. This will strengthen the connection between two major cities with strength within the medical industry, and the Danes will gain easier access to Swiss ski resorts and cultural attractions as well as French vineyards. Tickets can be booked from January 21st at any travel agency or at www.swiss.com
“We are pleased to extend the offer for our Danish guests by adding Basel to our destination portfolio. With the new connection, two strong European business locations move closer together. Basel is not only a dynamic economic region, but also a gateway to a charming province that combines the best features from three countries: France, Germany and Switzerland” says Urs Limacher, Swiss International Air Line’s Head of Scandinavia & Finland. “The third biggest Swiss city especially attracts art lovers with countless museums, theatres, galleries and famous events such as the Art Basel exhibition”, Limacher continues.
More options
Swiss is a member of Star Alliance, and as Copenhagen Airport is a Star Alliance hub, SAS will be able to feed passengers into the Basel route from all over Scandinavia, which will further strengthen Copenhagen Airport's position as a North European hub.
"Swiss creates competition on the route between Copenhagen and Basel, which is good for the passengers, who will have more options and sharper prices and Swiss, through its membership of Star Alliance, strengthen the access to a major European city for travellers from all over Scandinavia, " says Carsten Nørland , VP Sales and Marketing, Copenhagen Airport.
Swiss already serves the route between Copenhagen and Zurich.
