SAS to reopen service to Shanghai
SAS will resume flights from Copenhagen to Shanghai as part of next year’s winter programme. Thus, one of the major unserved routes out of Copenhagen Airport will again be served by non-stop flights. Moreover, SAS will add more frequencies to a number of its European and intercontinental destinations.
Improved market conditions and reduced costs have made SAS power up on its European as well as intercontinental destinations. This will be done, not least, through the reinstatement of an Airbus A340 from next year’s winter programme. This intercontinental airliner will be used on the service to the Chinese city of Shanghai with five weekly non-stop flights out of Copenhagen.
In addition, SAS will reinstate an additional three airliners on its services, enabling the airline to increase the number of frequencies to several of its European destinations and, as previously announced, SAS will add another Airbus A340 to its fleet already this winter, enabling the airline to offer additional frequencies on a number of its intercontinental destinations.
