TAP Portugal expands its route network out of Copenhagen Airport

From the summer of 2008, TAP Portugal will expand the number of frequencies it operates between Copenhagen Airport and Lisbon by six weekly departures. This will give passengers even better oportunities for travelling between Copenhagen and the capital of Portugal.

During the period from 1 June to 15 September, TAP Portugal increases the number of flights out of Copenhagen Airport to Lisbon from seven to 13 weekly flights. That gives passengers more options for travelling between Copenhagen and Lisbon and for using the capital of Portugal as a gateway to South America, especially to Brazil.

Increased flexibility for passengers

Joao Morais, Country Manager of TAP Portugal in Copenhagen expects a lot from the increased number of flights between Copenhagen and Lisbon, which is a popular destination for many Scandinavians:

"We have added new and additional

departures to increase the flexibility we offer our customers. In future, our passengers no longer need to stay overnight in Lisbon when connecting to popular overseas destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza or Natal in Brazil," said Joao Morais of TAP Portugal.

A gateway to South America

The President and CEO of Copenhagen Airport is also pleased that TAP Portugal is expanding its route network out of Copenhagen Airport. It is now possible to fly out and back on the same day, which will benefit the business segment, in particular:

"I am very pleased that TAP Portugal is expanding its route network between Copenhagen and Lisbon, and we expect a lot from this capacity increase. As part of our strategy, we wish to offer passengers a well-developed route network. The increased number of frequencies offered by TAP Portugal forms part of this strategy as passengers will have more and better flights between the two cities. In addition, the flights can be used to connect to many interesting destinations in South America," said Brian Petersen, President and CEO of Copenhagen Airports A/S.

Two daily departures

During the period from 1 June to 15 September, TAP Portugal will have two weekly frequencies departing daily at 08.20 and again at 14.45 except for Wednesday mornings. Out of Lisbon, there will be daily flights to Copenhagen at 09.25 and 17.25, except for Tuesday afternoons.
