Widerøe starts up new routes to Rygge and Haugesund, Norway
From March, passengers have the option of flying Widerøe to Rygge and Haugesund in Norway when the airline launches services to those two destinations out of Copenhagen Airport.
In the spring, Widerøe expands its route network with two new routes. From March, passengers will have the option of flying direct between Copenhagen and Rygge, south-east of Oslo, when Widerøe launches its new route to Rygge. In addition, the airline is going to launch flights between Copenhagen and Haugesund on the west coast of Norway.
There will be two daily frequencies to both destinations, which will be operated by DHC8-300s seating 50 passengers.
Good connections to other destinations
“We are pleased to be able to offer our passengers direct connections to Copenhagen from Rygge and Haugesund and we look forward to welcoming the first passengers. The new services will give our passengers good opportunities of travelling to other destinations in the world by the many flights available out of Copenhagen Airport,” said Richard Congestion, Communications Director of Widerøe.
New service out of Copenhagen Airport
Copenhagen Airports is also pleased that Widerøe is adding two new services out of Copenhagen; it will be the first time Rygge is part of Copenhagen Airport’s route network.
“New routes and a well-developed route network are essential if Copenhagen Airport is to maintain its position as Scandinavia's hub. We are therefore very pleased that Widerøe now launches services to the two destinations in Norway; and the service to Rygge will be covering an area that was previously uncovered by Copenhagen Airport,” said Brian Petersen, CEO of Copenhagen Airports A/S.
Coast Air used to fly to Haugesund, but Widerøe will now be the only airline operating the route.
