New non-stop service from Copenhagen to Newcastle
In the spring, Cimber Air will open a new non-stop service from Copenhagen to Newcastle, which will be destination no. 11 to the UK out of Copenhagen. No other airport in Scandinavia or Germany offers that many routes to the UK.

Cimber Air launches its new non-stop service from Copenhagen Airport to Newcastle in the north of England on 25 March 2007. The airline will use CRJ regional jets with seating capacity for 50 passengers and will offer one daily frequency seven days a week.
Cimber Air second largest
"In terms of number of departures, Cimber Air is the second-largest operator at Copenhagen Airport, after SAS. The route fits well into our traffic programme and is a natural part of our strategy of positioning ourselves as Scandinavia’s leading regional jet operator," said Bjarne Rasmussen, Sales and Marketing Manager at Cimber Air.
The route to Newcastle will be Copenhagen Airport’s 11th destination to the UK. No other airport in Scandinavia or Germany offers that many routes to the UK.
Newcastle is famous for its nightlife
"With the Cimber route to Newcastle, Copenhagen Airport gets a new, exciting destination. Newcastle is famous for its fantastic nightlife. Moreover, the city has a rich cultural life and offers good shopping opportunities for Danish tourists," said Route Developer Christian Nakskov Petersen of Copenhagen Airports A/S.
"We also expect that the Newcastle route will draw many UK tourists to Copenhagen, and the connections out of Copenhagen Airport are attractive to passengers from the northern part of England," said Nakskov Petersen.
