New service from Copenhagen to Leeds

The airline bmi regional plans to launch daily services between Copenhagen and Leeds in the spring.  Copenhagen Airport expects that the service will be used by many British passengers travelling on to destinations in Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Asia.

In the spring, Copenhagen Airport will get its tenth UK destination when bmi regional launches a new route to Leeds, the third largest city in the UK with more than 700,000 inhabitants. Leeds is located centrally in the UK and is a good starting point for visits to the historic city of York.

"The new service to Leeds is attractive to both tourists and business travellers. bmi regional collaborates with SAS, and we expect that many UK passengers will use the good connections out of Copenhagen Airport to the rest of Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Eastern Europe and Asia," says Route Developer Christian Nakskov Petersen, Copenhagen Airports A/S.

bmi regional will start flying on the route on 26 March 2007 using Embraer ERJ-145s seating 42 passengers. Flights will depart from Leeds at 10 am on weekdays and at 7.05 am on Saturdays and Sundays. Departures out of Copenhagen will be at 1.25 pm on weekdays and at 10.30 am on Saturdays and Sundays.

bmi regional already operates flights between Copenhagen Airport and Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland.
